At Spirit of Praise, everything begins and ends with Jesus. We are a Church of God congregation, rooted in Scripture, committed to the gospel, and open to the present-day work of the Holy Spirit.
We believe the Bible is the inspired Word of God and the foundation for what we believe and how we live. We believe in one God eternally existing as Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. We believe Jesus Christ is fully God and fully man, was born of a virgin, lived without sin, died for our sins, rose bodily from the grave, ascended to the Father, and will return again.
We believe every person has sinned and needs salvation, and that salvation comes through repentance and faith in Jesus Christ. Through Christ, we are forgiven, made new, and called to live a life of holiness that reflects Him.
We believe in sanctification and in the baptism of the Holy Spirit, with the biblical evidence of speaking in other tongues as the Spirit gives utterance. We believe the gifts of the Spirit are active today and that God still heals, delivers, transforms, and empowers His people for ministry.
We believe in water baptism by immersion, the Lord’s Supper, and the washing of the saints’ feet. We believe the Church is the body of Christ, called to worship God, make disciples, care for people, and carry the gospel to the world.
We believe in the resurrection of the saved and the lost, eternal life with Christ for those who belong to Him, and final judgment for those who reject Him. We believe Jesus is coming again, and until He does, the Church has work to do.
